This week was truly fantastic and shows the impact the Seminole County Chamber is having on our region.
First, on Tuesday, the Seminole County Chamber hosted the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and our District 7 Congressman, Cory Mills, for a listening session with our members.
The U.S. Chamber is traveling the country, hosting these sessions with select chambers in the member's district.
The goal is for businesses to learn more about the impacts of the recent passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill by Congress and share any concerns they have directly with our elected officials. Some of the key topics of discussion were SBA lending, military spending, renewable energy tax credits, cybersecurity certification, and more.
Thank you to ITI Engineering in Winter Springs for hosting this event.
Then, on Wednesday, we visited the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools to share the proceeds from our annual State of our Schools event.
In July, we showcased all the reasons why Seminole County has great public education, why it is continually ranked as an A+ district.
At the event, more than 350 people heard Superintendent Serita Beamon give her address.
From ticket sales and sponsorships, we were able to donate $5,383 to help our schools. We're proud to partner on this event and look forward to hosting the 2026 State of our Schools in July.
Finally, on Thursday, we announced the winners of the 2025 Seminole Business Awards. Please congratulate the following companies next time you see them.
- The Good Pour
- Cookies for Kids’ Cancer
- Seminole State College Center for Business Development
- Brewlando Sanford
- Edge Systems
And the winner of the Nemours Children's Health Well Beyond Award is VyStar Credit Union.
