Two Seminole County mainstays are coming together this November for a good cause. Wekiva Island is bringing back its Seafood Boil event with proceeds benefitting the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens.
Attendees can enjoy a low country seafood boil with a pound of jumbo shrimp, steamed clams, potatoes, corn and sausage. Tickets will also include three pours of 3 Daughters Brewing beers.
The event will run from 3 to 7 p.m. on a new date due to flooding from Hurricane Milton—Nov. 16. Tickets are $45 per person. The Zoo will have animal ambassadors for guests to meet from 3 to 5 p.m. Additionally, there will be a silent auction with 100 percent of proceeds going to the Zoo.
This is the second year for the event, which benefitted the Zoo in 2023 as well. Wekiva Island is the sponsor of the North American river otter habitat at the Zoo.
“We love our friends at the Central Florida Zoo,” said Carrie Vanderhoef, Wekiva Island manager and Zoo board member. “Their mission of conservation is aligned with our own mission of sustainability and education. With this money, they’ll be able to do even more for the animals and the community.”
Limited tickets are available. Guests can purchase tickets here.
