Jacksonville, FL – VyStar Credit Union is honored to celebrate National Veterans and Military Families Month and Veterans Day by offering free experiences for veterans and active-duty military, hosting community events, and recognizing the invaluable contributions of past and present military members and their families in North and Central Florida and Georgia.
VyStar was founded at Naval Air Station Jacksonville in 1952 by 12 people with $60. It was started as a place to help military and civil service members meet their financial needs. Today, VyStar continues to uphold this commitment to the military community with the same passion by providing the support and opportunities our brave service members and their families deserve from Central Florida to Metro Atlanta along with current and former military members around the world

VyStar is proud to work alongside local businesses, institutions, and community partners to demonstrate our support for the military community through a variety of Veterans Day and military appreciation events.
VyStar is also honored to support Veterans Day parades in Jacksonville and Orlando along with military and veterans' appreciation luncheons in Jacksonville, Gainesville, Savannah, Stockbridge and Atlanta. In addition, VyStar proudly sponsors the NAS Jacksonville Air Show and the Orlando Air Show.
VyStar’s Honor Your Hero social media campaign recognizes active-duty military and veterans for their heroic service and dedication to our country. This year, VyStar received 168 nominations filled with touching stories of hope, inspiration and valor. Six honorees were selected to receive VIP Fan Experiences and recognition during the following events:

- FSU Football Military Appreciation Game (Tallahassee) – Saturday, November 2
- Savannah Ghost Pirates Military Appreciation Game (Savannah) – Saturday, November 9
- UF Football Military Appreciation Game (Gainesville) – Saturday, November 16
- Orlando Solar Bears Military Appreciation Game (Orlando) – Sunday, November 17
- Florida Blue Florida Classic (Orlando) – Saturday, November 23
In addition to these events, VyStar supports ongoing veterans’ initiatives at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena and community partners such as the Jacksonville Naval Museum and the National POW/MIA Memorial & Museum.
