Lake County entrepreneur brings decades of experience helping small business to the economic development ecosphere
Eustis, Fla. (October 16, 2023) – With the opening of the Lake County Incubator in Eustis just around the corner, the UCF Business Incubation Program is announcing Wendy Taylor has been hired as the site manager.
In this role, Taylor will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Eustis/Lake County Incubation Program, recruitment of new clients and working with local government and private partners. A key part of the role is working with the incubator’s clients on strategies to grow their business.
“We want our site managers to understand the trials and tribulations that come from being an entrepreneur and Wendy has that experience, having built a successful business herself and having spent years as a small business coach for the Small Business Development Center,” says Carol Ann Logue, director, programs & operations, Innovation Districts & Incubation Program, University of Central Florida. “We think her unique skill set, along with her Lake County ties, really make her a perfect fit.”
Taylor founded Strategic Online Marketing over a decade ago, with a focus on providing high-level online marketing services for small businesses and non-profits. Prior to founding her business, Taylor worked in online marketing and technology positions with Southwest Airlines Vacations, Cox Radio and Lake County Public Schools.
“Throughout my career, I’ve seen the power the UCF Business Incubation Program can have on transforming businesses and helping entrepreneurs reach their goals,” Taylor says. “I’m looking forward to really working with these businesses and growing economic development in my hometown.”
Taylor is a resident of Eustis having moved there with her husband in 2002 right after they were married. Her family raises horses and cattle and her children are all students at Lake County Public Schools.
The UCF Business Incubator in Eustis opened October 4, providing unique resources for entrepreneurs who would like to grow their companies. That incubator is a partnership between UCF, Lake County, the City of Eustis, and MEGA Properties
