Last week, we learned the Universal Orlando Foundation has chosen Rescue Outreach Mission as one of this year's grant recipients.
The grant for $30,000 will help provide support for our Women & Family Center. We continue to see a significant number of families coming to our shelter and this will provide resources for so many who need assistance.
"We're so thankful for Universal Orlando Foundation and the support they have shown to helping the Seminole County community," says Chris Ham, executive director, Rescue Outreach Misison. "There are so many needs and we are truly grateful they have invested in providing a safe shelter and a pathway to home for our guests."
This year, Seminole County is seeing a significant increase in the number of individuals who are experiencing homelessness. A recent survey of homelessness showed the number of people in this situation has nearly doubled over the past 12 months.
Currently, there are more than a dozen families, with nearly 30 children in our shelter every night. If you would like to contribute, please visit our website.
