In a recent STEM Buddy project, first graders from Seminole Science Charter School (SSCS) were led by sixth graders in dissecting owl pellets to learn how to analyze evidence and form conclusions. The students examined the skulls and bones found in the pellets – which are undigested parts of an owl's food – and compared them to animal diagrams to understand what kind of prey the owl had consumed. Together, the students inferred the owl's diet, drawing conclusions about its feeding habits. SSCS is devoted to enriching the lives of students with the integration of STEM curriculum, providing a diverse student population with a well-rounded educational experience.
