Seminole County Government Television to Broadcast Canvassing Board Meetings

Seminole County, FL (August 11, 2024) — Seminole County Government Television (SGTV), the County’s official government television channel, will provide live coverage of Seminole County Canvassing Board meetings leading up to the August 20 primary election.

The Canvassing Board is scheduled to meet:

• Wednesday, August 14, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., for canvassing of mail ballots
• Thursday, August 15, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., for canvassing of mail ballots
• Friday, August 16, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., for canvassing of mail ballots
• Saturday, August 17, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., for canvassing of mail ballots
• Monday, August 19, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m., for canvassing of mail ballots
• Tuesday, August 20 (Election Day), 4 p.m. – 9 p.m., for canvassing of mail ballots and certification of initial results

“This will allow residents to observe the critical work done by the Board to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our local elections,” said Seminole County Chairman Jay Zembower, who is also a member of the Canvassing Board. "We encourage all residents to tune in and witness firsthand the meticulous efforts that go into ensuring every vote is counted accurately."

The Seminole County Canvassing Board is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the election process, including the review of vote-by-mail ballots, provisional ballots, and the certification of election results. By broadcasting these meetings live, SGTV aims to give residents a clearer understanding of the processes that uphold the integrity of Seminole County elections.
