Seminole County, FL (November 29, 2023) — Join Seminole County Animal Services for our first ever Paws & Claus event this Saturday, December 2, 2023. With the shelter currently full of animals, and our rescue partners in similar situations, Seminole County aims to highlight all the pets that are available for adoption and ready for a forever home.
In 2023 so far, Seminole County Animal Services has taken in 7,239 animals. As Seminole County has faced influxes of animals several times over the last year due to animal cruelty cases, the shelter continues to work through capacity issues, getting creative in housing and caring for our dogs and cats.
Animal Services will have several available animals to adopt, featuring pets of all breeds and sizes. Local rescue groups such as Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, T.E.A.R.S. of Seminole County, Feline Furcrew Rescue, Inc. and Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida will also be in attendance with adoptable dogs and cats.
In addition, there will be food trucks, animal demonstrations, and pet-themed vendors selling gifts for the holiday season.
And don’t forget about Santa! The public is encouraged to bring their own pet to the event for a picture with Santa Claus, with donations accepted. A Seminole County Fire Department engine will deliver Santa to the event at 10:30a.m.
