Optimus Energy Solutions Installs Solar Array for Fort Knox Self Storage

New facility anticipated to fully offset all energy consumption through the use of solar system
Mt. Dora, Fla. (November 20, 2024) – As businesses continue to look for ways to decrease expenses, utilizing solar energy systems is becoming more and more common.
In October, Optimus Energy Solutions flipped the switch on its latest commercial solar project, a 90kw system for Fort Knox Self Storage in Okahumpka, Fla., right outside The Villages & Leesburg.
The newly constructed storage facility features three storage buildings with drive-up and climate-controlled units as well as three covered parking canopies offering secure and weather-proof storage for RVs, boats, trailers, and large vehicles.  
The system will produce 132,000 kWh of power to provide an estimated 100 percent of the energy needed for the entire 9.5-acre facility. The project consists of more than 200 solar panels on top of 4,000 square feet of canopies covering the recreational vehicle storage area.

This is the first installation by Optimus Energy Solutions for Fort Knox Self Storage, which has multiple locations around The Villages and Lake and Sumter counties.
