Kindergarten-5th Grade Academics & Learning Models

Our elementary academic program is built on our Enlightened Literacy and Guided Math Model, a mastery-based, walk-to-learn approach that prioritizes progress over grade level. Instead of grouping students strictly by age, we assess where each child is along the reading and math continuum and place students in ability-based groups designed to move them forward with confidence.

Our goal in the elementary years is to build strong academic foundations, a love of learning, and the confidence to take ownership of growth. At Lighthouse Learning, we intentionally balance personalized academics with strong peer relationships.

6th Grade-8th Grade Academics & Learning Models with Our R.E.A.D.Y. Program: The Lighthouse Learning Pathfinders Pillars 🏛️
Our middle school program is designed to ensure students are R.E.A.D.Y. for high school, leadership, and life—academically, socially, and emotionally. Middle school students also participate in advisory-style support, where they:
  • Set academic and personal goals
  • Track mastery progress
  • Reflect on learning
  • Receive coaching on time management and accountability
Our Middle School Pathfinders program is departmentalized, allowing students to rotate between subject-specific teachers who bring depth, expertise, and intentional instruction to each content area. This structure supports independence, executive functioning, and readiness for high school.

2-Day STREAM Enrichment Program 🔍
Where learning extends beyond the classroom, and students discover who they are becoming. At Lighthouse Learning, learning doesn’t stop at the core academics. Our Thursday–Friday STREAM Enrichment Program is intentionally designed to extend, apply, and deepen student learning through hands-on, experiential, and interest-driven opportunities.

S - Science
T - Talent Development & Trades
R - Reading, Writing & Arithmetic
E - Engage the Body & Mind
A - Art & Design
M - Music (Performance-Based & Project-Driven)

These days look different from traditional classroom instruction by design. STREAM allows students to explore, create, collaborate, and discover strengths beyond the core academic block while continuing to build essential skills. STREAM serves all students, is differentiated by grade level, and operates through a rotational classroom model, allowing students to learn from multiple teachers and in specialized learning spaces.
