In case you missed it, Chris Ham, the executive director of Rescue Outreach Mission was honored by Congressman Cory Mills in his most recent newsletter as his Hometown Hero.
Each week, Congressman Mills showcases someone in District 7, the work they are doing and the difference they are making in our community.
"I'm very appreciative of how Congressman Mills has showcased the difficult work that we do every day at Rescue Outreach Mission," Ham says. "I'm part of a much bigger team and each of us are doing as much as we can to help those who truly need it."

As the executive director of Rescue Outreach Mission, Chris Ham brings a wealth of non-profit leadership experience to Seminole County’s only Emergency Housing Shelter.
A Florida Native, he’s spent a career leading people, first with Fortune 500 companies, then as a Presbyterian minister and, for almost a decade, working with local non-profits. In each position, Chris has overseen growth through his talents in fundraising, public speaking, and community organizing.
Today, Chris is one of the leading experts in Central Florida on the issues surrounding housing and homelessness. Using his pastoral background, he brings a sense of hope and caring to people who often feel lost and alone.

He holds degrees from Valencia Community College (AA), Florida State University (BS) and Columbia Theological Seminary (MDiv).
The occasional runner, Chris, has completed numerous half-marathons and one full marathon. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the outdoors, paddleboarding on the Wekiva River, and being with his wife and three school-age children watching college football.
In addition, Chris and his wife, Christy Ham, are the parents of 3 Children: Matthew (Jr at Lake Brantley), Thomas (sophomore at Lake Brantley), and Elizabeth (6th grader at Rock Lake Middle School).
