Disney Donates $500,000 to Florida School Programs & Surprises Teachers with Free Park Tickets

Stitch went on a tour around Central Florida, surprising teachers at Hamilton ElementaryDeerwood ElementaryCollege Park MiddleTavares Middle and North Lakeland Elementary as they cleaned up their classrooms for the summer.

 

But that’s not all! Teachers at each school were also surprised with Walt Disney World park tickets AND Disney announced a new $500,000 donation that will help fund local education programs.

 

“This means the world,” said Adam Cody, a Deerwood Elementary School teacher. “It’s amazing to get the recognition from our district and Disney. There really are no words to describe how special it makes us feel.”

Disney’s donation will benefit The Foundation for Orange County Public SchoolsThe School District of Osceola CountyLake County Schools FoundationPolk County Schools Foundation and Seminole County Schools Foundation, as well as four organizations supporting youth development: Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing ArtsOrlando PhilharmonicELEVATE Orlando and A Gift for Teaching.
