Clayton Trial Lawyers PLLC announces a major courtroom victory for legendary 8-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman's company, RCBA Nutraceuticals. After a 5-week jury trial in Sanford, Seminole County, Florida, the jury awarded a verdict of $15.4 million in damages in a closely watched case against Western Packaging, Inc. and Polyfirst Packaging, Inc. RCBA is also seeking interest, attorneys' fees and costs well over $5 million.
The case involved allegations that Western had committed fraud, deceptive practices, and breach of contract, among others, with respect to its capabilities and experience manufacturing specialized zipper pouch bags used to package RCBA's protein supplements. Despite claiming extensive experience, Western actually outsourced production to Polyfirst Packaging, Inc. (acquired by ProAmpac in 2017, a multibillion dollar packaging company owned by Pritzker Group Private Capital), which lacked the expertise to successfully produce RCBA's protein bags. The products were defective and leaked protein powder, causing significant financial harm to RCBA.
"In our opinion, this verdict sends a strong message that fraudulent business practices won't be tolerated," said William R. Clayton, lead trial counsel at Clayton Trial Lawyers PLLC. "The jury delivered a resounding verdict that holds the defendants accountable. Our law firm is dedicated to seeking justice and ensuring business owners are protected against deceptive conduct," added Miguel Aristizabal, partner at Clayton Trial Lawyers. Riley Kennedy, Esq., was also part of the trial team and was instrumental in achieving this victory.
