While Sanford celebrates its rich history, the City of Sanford is focused on the future—embracing growth, innovation, and unity through a newly updated Citywide Strategic Plan. The plan will be formally presented to the City Commission at an upcoming Commission meeting, on Monday, October 13 at 4pm, City Hall, 300 N. Park Avenue, Sanford, marking an exciting milestone for Sanford’s continued evolution as a vibrant and connected community.
Developed collaboratively with input from City leadership, departments, and employees, the Strategic Plan sets a clear roadmap to guide how Sanford serves its residents, businesses, and visitors. The plan’s vision emphasizes excellence in service, operational accountability, and community connection, ensuring Sanford remains a City on the move.
As part of the rollout, City staff have launched an internal campaign centered around the acronym C.A.R.E. — representing “Community-Focused, Accountable, Resilient, and Environmentally Responsible.” The C.A.R.E. campaign fosters unity among departments and reinforces the values driving the City’s daily work.
“Our employees are the heart of City government,” said Norton Bonaparte, City Manager. “The Strategic Plan provides a shared direction, and the C.A.R.E. campaign brings that vision to life through the actions and attitudes of our team members who serve the public every day.”
The City of Sanford’s new Strategic Plan underscores its ongoing dedication to providing exceptional services, preserving community character, and creating a sustainable, inclusive future for all.
