Onboard Hospitality chose the Swift Brew concept as a key new concept for airline amenities
Winter Springs, Fla. (July 19, 2024) – Facing competition from more than 200 total entries worldwide, a Winter Springs company has been named a company to watch when it comes to in-flight services and amenities.
The Barista Cup submitted its Swift Brew concept for the Onboard Hospitality Awards, the top awards program for the industry, and was chosen by the leading publication as one of six that airlines should pay attention to.
"This accolade is a reflection of our dedicated team's hard work and our loyal customers’ unwavering support," said Aziz Patel, CEO, of The Barista Cup." Swift Brew represents our mission to revolutionize the coffee and tea experience, making it more convenient and enjoyable for everyone."
Swift Brew was designed with passengers in mind to provide a simple way to provide a high-quality cup of coffee for travelers and others on the go. Each Swift Brew cup comes pre-filled with 100 percent ground coffee and the user simply needs to add hot water and the lid to create freshly brewed coffee in seconds. The turbulence-proof lids are designed for a hassle-free coffee experience on the go.
“Winning an Onboard Hospitality Award is a testament to the quality, innovation and excellence of a product. It provides a competitive advantage which resonates with both airline buyers and passengers,” the organization says on its home page. “The Onboard Hospitality Awards enjoy international recognition, offering products unparalleled visibility in the aviation industry. Winning an award means global exposure and the potential to access new markets.”
Other winners of the Onboard Hospitality Awards in 2024 include JetBlue, Air India, Air France, and Alaska Airlines.
The Barista Cup has many different product offerings. The company has introduced a new way of brewing coffee featuring a state-of-the-art coffee channel that effectively traps grounds during brewing, ensuring a consistently smooth and bitter-free coffee experience every time. Its original single-use cup is currently onboard Air Baltic, Transpennine Express rail and is being introduced to 60 million passengers on Wizz Air in August.
The Barista Cup is committed to sustainability, using only half the coffee of traditional machines, significantly reducing farming intensity and environmental footprint. Its coffees are Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance certified, ensuring fair compensation for farmers and upholding stringent environmental standards.
In addition to Swift Brew and the original single-use cup, the company offers a reusable stainless steel tumbler version called the “Rockies Edition”. Utilizing the same patented technology to offer coffee users the ability to have a freshly brewed cup of coffee on the go.
The Barista Cup is a client of the UCF Business Incubation Program at its Winter Springs Incubator.
